Blast at Intermet plant kills 1

Troy-based Intermet Corp. said Monday one worker was killed and two were still missing after an explosion in its New River cast-iron foundry Sunday night near Radford, Va. About 70 workers were on the job Sunday when the blast occurred. Seven workers were transported to nearby hospitals. Crews began clearing debris Monday, looking for the missing employees.
