AutoZone holder may seek changes in board makeup

AutoZone Inc.'s largest shareholder group, citing possible conflicts of interest by directors at the auto-parts company, said it may seek changes in the board. ESL Partners LP and its affiliates, who hold a 16.3 percent stake in AutoZone, said they "intend to evaluate" whether to seek such changes to "provide for a greater representation by directors independent of management," according to an amended Schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. AutoZone, based in Memphis, Tennessee, sells auto and light truck parts through 2,837 stores in the U.S. and Mexico.
